Habitat in the Black Sea region of Turkey, Marmara, Central Anatolia and the Taurus mountains.

They live between 800 and 1600 meters altitude. The weight of an adult male is approximately 300 kg. For many years this species was not hunted because of their high trophy values, but are now being hunted since 2014.

September and October are the best hunting periods. Hunting time is 4,5 or 6 days. Accommodation will be at hotels or camping in the higher grounds. The hunting of this species was started in 2004. For many years this species was not hunted because of their high trophy values.
